Drama and Theatre Studies offers you the opportunity to build on previous experience and interest to develop knowledge and understanding of appropriate theatre skills, together with a sensitive and critical response to theatrical influences, conventions and styles. Emphasis is on practical exploration in all areas of the course, which are taught through workshops, group work and rehearsal, and are supported by a sound theoretical framework. This is not, however, simply a course for would-be actors -you will explore the diversity of what can constitute theatre, and be exposed to a variety of theatre skills during your two year course. Length of Course 2 years (you gain a Level 3 certificate after successfully completing Year 1, you will be awarded a full subsidiary diploma after successfully completing Year 2)

On completion of the first year of the course, you may wish to progress onto the Subsidiary Diploma. Most student progress onto Higher Education (HE). The two year course is equivalent to a full A Level in Drama/Dance so would therefore allow students to carry on to a degree in some area of the performing arts.
