Course Description

This course meets the demands of today’s fast-paced and ever-evolving entertainment industry, examining both the artistic and the commercial sides of the business, as well as exploring the dynamic between the two. The degree has a strong focus on the commercial music industry, but also considers the not-for-profit sector. Units of Study include: * business management * marketing and communications * entertainment law * digital marketing * promotion * economics and finance in the entertainment industry * artist management * tour management This degree course examines the structure and practices of the industry, the skills required to operate within it, and the ever-changing opportunities for artistic and commercial success. Internship Opportunity Bachelor of Entertainment Management students complete two internship units in the final two trimesters of the degree. The structure of the degree ensures that students go into their internships equipped with substantial knowledge and practical skills, that enable them to take on challenging internships and significantly contribute to their host organisation’s productivity. The quality of AIM’s interns has resulted in offers of work as a consequence of their internship. Recent examples include; Universal Music, Warner Music Australia, Sony ATV, Ambience Entertainment, Elefant Traks, Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy Australia, and Source Music. AIM’s interns are highly sought after, in particular for their knowledge of digital marketing and the use of social media to build creative communities and maximise commercial opportunities
