Course Description

The BS in applied computer science provides students with an education that targets the computing profession. Students will learn to use mathematics, science and economics, along with technological knowledge and skill in the application of programming languages and software processes, to design, analyze, implement and test software systems and applications. The program is problem and project based, utilizing the languages, tools and methods of computing best practices. Graduates gain significant exposure to team-based software development through industry-driven projects. This major is eligible for the Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) program at the following location: Polytechnic campus. Students from Western states, who select this major and campus, may be eligible for reduced nonresident tuition at a rate of 150 percent of Arizona resident tuition plus all applicable fees.
