Course Description

The BFA intermedia program is a conceptually driven program with an interdisciplinary approach to art-making. Students work with experimental studio practices, performance and digital media to explore new avenues for self-expression, collaborative practice and community action. The program covers a wide range of conceptual and media orientations reflecting the professional practices of a growing team of faculty members. Currently, emphasis in performance, installation, mixed media, digital video, digital sculpture, animation and Web art are offered. Interaction and collaboration across other areas in the School of Art, including sculpture and photography, are encouraged and supported. All students who are admitted to the major must pass a portfolio review to continue in the major after successful completion of the art foundational course work.
