Course Description

Few years after graduation, alumni of the undergraduate program in civil engineering will be able to: Identify practical solutions to real life civil engineering problems that are based on a sound science and engineering knowledge, and reflect high level of awareness to relevant social, economical and environmental issues. Efficiently design, build and/or evaluate a civil engineering system/component to satisfy certain client needs per relevant standard specifications and environmental requirements in the Gulf region Be capable of using modern engineering tools efficiently in all aspects of civil engineering practices. Develop and update their knowledge and skills through continuing education and graduate studies to keep up with the rapidly evolving technologies in the field of civil engineering. Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills in a professional setting Understand and maintain professional ethics and the need to safeguard the public, the environment, and the natural resources of the country. Be capable of advancing their civil engineering careers through involvement in professional activity and public service, to achieve leadership positions in the industry, government, or academia.
