Course Description

The air we breathe, the soil we build upon, the food we eat, and the water we drink are some of the environmental factors that affect our health. To ensure our air, soil, food, and water are safe, we rely daily on Environmental Health Practitioners. Abu Dhabi University’s new Environmental Health and Safety Program will prepare students for careers as Environmental Health Practitioners in both the private and public sectors. Students will graduate with the knowledge and abilities necessary to understand, analyze, and solve environmental health and safety problems in the UAE and the gulf region, as well as develop a firm understanding of the connection between environmental factors and human health.

Career outcomes

Whether you like the idea of building community plans and helping government to implement laws and policies, or spending time in a laboratory running tests on water quality and food safety, or getting out into the cities and wild spaces of the UAE to monitor air quality or building and work place safety, there is a career for you in the field of Environmental Health and Safety. Six different degree concentrations (learning paths) have been developed to assist students in program planning. The career paths / degree concentrations are: Pollution monitoring and control Community and urban planning Food safety and inspection Policy planning and implementation Project assessment and management Industrial and occupational health and safety
